The Eco-Pods
Stylish Seclusion
The epitome of barefoot luxury, the Valley Pod and Waterfall Pod are ideal for romantic breakaways and honeymoons. Accommodating up to 2 adults and 1 small child, every corner of our luxury pods is created to maximise the wild surrounds that have inspired them.
The most recent accommodation options at Melozhori are two new self-catering Eco-Pods located on secluded spots across the reserve. These seductively located and luxuriously finished pods each have a wood-fired hot tub, outdoor pizza oven and a massive 14m hammock to watch game browsing nearby or gaze at our beautiful starry night skies. Enjoy sweeping views across a verdant valley, all the creature comforts of home as well as a full range of modern luxuries and amenities.
Perfect for exploring this diverse countryside, rates for the Valley Pod and Waterfall include one complimentary game drive for stays of 2 nights or longer, additional game drives can be booked by prior arrangement. Led by an experienced guide, these drives are an opportunity to spot wildlife such as giraffe, zebra, sable, bontebok and wildebeest.
With countless other ways to explore the wilderness of Melozhori, you will never be short of something to do. Head out on a relaxing hike through the veld, or opt for a more adventurous mountain biking expedition through vastly unchartered land. As night descends, turn your attention to the sky and bask in spectacular sky-gazing unobstructed by light pollution. Last, but not least, take a dip in the wood-fired hot tub, or simply relax on the hammock with a good book.
“We stayed for two nights. Our goal was to find a place completely secluded and in nature. I spent a few hours looking for a place online that had all our favourite things and this place had it all! Close to Cape Town, complete privacy, kol kol, outside shower, indoor and outdoor fire places, amazing coffee machine and all the necessities we would need! We also purchased the semi-catering option and a Romantic Package, which was all wonderful! The Game Drive was great! The stay truly recharged us. Worth every cent in my opinion. Thank you to everyone involved for making it so special! We felt the love :). I highly recommend this place and for locals to travel locally more. There are not many amazing gems like Melozhori!”

“Breathtaking experience. Ideal break away from the city. Experiencing nature first hand, enjoying the fireplace daily and finishing the day of with a nice braai or use of the pizza oven. Obviously, enjoying the hot tub on a wet cold autumn day.”

“My partner and I have been to Melozhori twice now, and it has quickly become or favourite getaway destination. The drive from Cape Town is long enough to feel like you are going away, but short enough to not feel tired or like you have lost any time. It is the perfect distance, taking us about just under 2 hours. The facilities are exceptional, the wildlife abundant and the staff extremely friendly, helpful and resourceful. There is certainly nothing negative that can be said insofar as what one might want from a getaway, but it was the small little details that really impressed me. For example, the fresh bread we received in our pod upon arrival might be the best bread I've had. The combustion heated jacuzzi was started for us before our arrival. Firewood was prepared and packed in the fireplace and pizza oven beforehand, all we had to do was light them as and when desired. We did not see any people, cars, or buildings. We did not hear anything but the tranquil sounds of nature. We returned home completely relaxed and rejuvenated. To mention all the positives here would make this review far too long. Simply put, just book and go, I cannot see anyone regret doing so.”

“Perfect getaway retreat just a short distance from cape town and winelands. Easy and safe drive to the game reserve. We stayed in the Waterfall pod with the semi-catering package and was plenty food for our stay & had fun cooking on the BBQ and pizza oven. Highly recommend for a special few days!”
